Hello all! I hope this finds you well. As you may know, beeswax is a scarce, beautiful wax with a multitude of purposes. It has been prized since ancient times; in fact, the oldest candles found (BC!) were beeswax! Here I will take you through the benefits of beeswax and the many advantageous beeswax contains when compared to paraffin or soy candles (those sold at most major candle shop).
Up to 95% of worldwide candles are paraffin wax. This is a cheap wax and easy to mass produce, hence their cheap price . Here at The Hive Beeswax Candles, we are passionate about making superior products. Sure, we could produce cheap candles out of Paraffin wax and mass produce these, but that is not what we want in the homes of Australians.
Beeswax is the way to go.
Beeswax is a byproduct secreted from honeybees as they produce honey. It takes approximately 66 million visits to flowers for a colony of bees to produce a single kilo of beeswax. Beeswax is the oldest wax in existence and the most natural. In the next few points I will describe some of the many benefits associated with these candles.
Lower toxicity:
Beeswax candles, unlike soy or paraffin wax, produce no toxic byproducts and have little to no soot whilst burning. Some candles, when burned, produce minute traces of carcinogens, which beeswax is completely free of.
Brighter light:
This one is self explanatory. Beeswax is proven to produce the brightest, purest light when compared to other candles. Once you have bought a beeswax candle this will become apparent. It is said to be the closest to natural sunlight out of any candle, and the radiant glow is comforting and peaceful.
Longest burning wax:
Compared to other waxes, beeswax will burn for much longer, up to 5 times longer than other waxes. Whilst the initial cost of beeswax candles may be higher, the number of hours one will receive is significantly higher than any other waxes.
Hypoallergenic:
For those that suffer from hayfever, regular sneezing episodes and general discomfort from dust these candles are sure to help. I have had many customers sing praises about how they go from severe hay fever and sensitivity to their household air to a marked decrease in sneezing whilst burning these candles! purify your air with this wax.
Renewable:
bees always have and always will continue to produce wax as a natural byproduct. Paraffin, however, is derived from petroleum. When you compare a renewable resource made by the pollinators of nature to the byproduct of a fossil fuel, there really is no contest.
I could go on about these benefits. You and your family or visitors (after lockdown of course!) will marvel at these beeswax candles and the noticeable benefits. It is the small things that matter, like a nice hot drink, a sunrise or the light of a fire.
Whilst we can't promise you the world, I can promise these will be the best candles you have ever had.
Stay safe and well all, thanks for reading. <3
Liam
